Cindy Renander
musician, educator
Dr. Cindy Renander, clarinetist, performs regularly in the Northwest with many orchestras, ensembles and music festivals, and is a member of the Olympia Symphony Orchestra.
Teaching:
In addition to performing, she has extensive experience teaching private clarinet lessons, from beginners to college majors. She teaches in University Place (Tacoma), and at Tacoma Community College. Students can take weekly lessons, or just a few to help with specific issues. She has adjudicated numerous solo & ensemble contests regionally and state level.
A native Tacoman, she has also lived in the south, where she served as Visiting Professor of Music at Lander University in South Carolina.
Education:
Dr. Renander holds a Doctor of Music and Master’s degree from Florida State University, and her undergraduate degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
Performing continued:
She has played with Symphony Tacoma, Yakima Symphony, Northwest Sinfonietta, Tacoma Opera, and many symphonies in the South including Naples Philharmonic, Charleston (SC) Symphony, Greenville Symphony, Asheville Symphony, Augusta Symphony, and Tallahassee Symphony. Festivals include the Sunriver and Astoria Music Festivals.
